[March, 04 2010]More than a hundred local authorities, ambassadors, secretaries of state, representatives of regional governments and associations have met in Cordoba to discuss about cooperation between Europe and Morocco
The Forum of Local Authorities UE-Morocco finishes with the compromise to begin on a common agenda for cooperation.
The deputy-mayoress of Arbaoua, Fatna El Kihel, the Minister for the Interior of the Government of Andalusia, Pizarro Luis Medina, the international consultant in Spain, Latin America and Decentralized Cooperation Initiative of ART Program United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Antonio Zurita Contreras and FAMSI Secretary General, Juan Ramon Troncoso, chaired the closing session of the forum reading the Commitment of Cordoba.
The "Commitment of Cordoba" details that local authorities collected during these two days are committed to working on the wording of the joint agenda of decentralized cooperation.
Likewise, the conclusions reflect a call to members of the Summit between the EU and Morocco, to be held next weekend in Granada, which highlight the role that local authorities should have in the process of advanced status. The Commitment of Córdoba will be part of the working documents in that summit.
Moreover, a second meeting of local authorities between European Union and Morocco will be celebrate next year in Alawi country.
